Brushes are just fine. Recommended. The packaging is another story. The brushes were not in the D'addario packaging -- such as it is. Both brushes were loose in the Amazon envelope as was the D'addario cardboard holder. Neither brush was retracted into the handle. Both were fully deployed and could easily have been bent when stuffed into my small mailbox. You'd think D'addario would have better Amazon-ready packaging.

One of brushes out of the pair that I received had bends on some of the wires which caused them to tangle. I initially didn't think it would become a major issue however It also affected how smoothly they retracted into the handle and everytime I retracted it worsened some of bends. Had to cut some of the wires using some cable cutters. It's likely a storage and distribution problem as they arrived with packaging that offered no protection whatsoever and the brushes were exposed instead of being shielded inside of the handles. I can use them fine now but it's just disappointing to be paying £15

My son requested these and has used them throughout his first semester in the college Jazz Band. They arrived in great condition and have been used often. Very happy with this product.
